How do you connect with and convert your marketing target audience?

In this post, you'll discover four ways to create marketing materials your target audience is sure to love.

It's a common misconception that you can't please everyone. However, it's not about finding a way to satisfy an entire market segment, but a specific part of that segment. In his book ' Pre-Suasion ', Robert Cialdini explains the importance of making the other person feel good before you ask them for something in return. There are various techniques which can be used when creating content marketing material aimed at your target audience . Here are 4 ways to help ensure success:

1) Create resonance with titles and headlines

Your title or headline should be engaging and entice people to read. Pique curiosity by asking a question or make a bold statement. You might need to conduct some research or run a survey to figure out what title would work best. Here are some examples:

·   Will your business survive the next recession?

·   As sales start declining, this is how entrepreneurs can save their company from going under

2) Incite an emotional reaction

People have different reasons for deciding whether to take action on something they read - and these reasons vary based on the type of material being consumed. For example, if it's a blog post :

  ·    They may be searching for information so they want to find an answer as quickly as possible. In this case, give them what they're looking for in the title so they can decide if they want to read more.

·    They may be an expert on the topic so they won't settle for anything less than the best. Highlight your product or service's benefits and show how it can help improve their business.

For eBooks:

  ·    People might just be browsing, so you need something that will catch their attention and pique interest enough for them to download the document adding value to their lives.              Tell a story about someone who struggled and had success with your product/service/process etc., or share some information which is compelling enough for customers to make a purchase right away.

3) Ensure text appeals directly to the individual

People like reading content targeted specifically at them. This means they will feel more engaged and interested in the material. For example, if it's a blog post:

  ·    Use emojis which match your audience's age range

·    Add links featuring products or services your target market uses (or would like to use). Don't forget to mention why using these specific products/services is important.

For eBooks:

Don't write content for an entire passive audience - define the person you're trying to reach and speak directly to them . If you do this, you'll have a greater impact on that one individual versus pandering toward a huge group of people some of whom may not even read it if it doesn't address their needs.

4) Appeal with visuals

It's no secret visuals are important in marketing content. Pictures, logos, graphs etc., can be used to get your message across more effectively than text alone. Don't underestimate the power of images. For example, if you're releasing a blog post:

  ·    Ensure there are images included so people can understand what you're saying without having to read through it all

·    If they need to be supplied by someone else (eg. you don't own the rights) make sure links are provided so they can find the image easily

If you have an eBook/eCourse/WhitePaper etc., ensure that at least some of the pages contain graphics which show off your product or service features . It will help break up the text and make it more appealing to read.
